Dear friends, we would cordially like to invite you to the annual celebration of this important holiday. It will be held on
SATURDAY 4. 11. 2017 IN ĀRĀMA KARUṆĀ SEVENA
KAṬHINA is the second most important Buddhist festival in the Theravāda tradition (the central celebration is Vesākha). Kaṭhina takes place every year, in the four weeks following the end of vassa (rainy season). Kaṭhina carries an ancient Buddhist tradition, when lay followers donate (dāna) a robe and four properties to monks and nuns. Your act of generosity will not only contribute to a better life for monastic (saṅgha), but especially help to improve your own kamma. Please kindly take advantage of this rare opportunity. If you want to donate a particular item, contact us in advance and we will assist you.
An offered lunch will be prepared from donated vegetarian dishes that you cook in the ārāma or bring with you. For those who would like to participate on the preparation and cooking, please kindly contact us in advance on our email firstname.lastname@example.org. We can thus better agree on what is needed.
If possible, come at least one day in advance.
